ruigoord is a small artist community on the fringe of amsterdam. the artists living
here organize many cultural events, ranging from poetry readings to african drum workshops, art exhibitions, trans parties, a yearly art/music festival (landjuweel),
as well as a variety of cultural events for kids and much more. in short, ruigoord is a thriving art and culture haven. for quite a few years now, their existence is being threatened by industrial development. the land surrounding them is quickly being swallowed up by factories and corporations. this year ruigoord 35 years old.
